A dream not only for full-blooded horseriders:
Riding along nearly endless beaches into the sunset on horseback …
NAXOS offers marvellous possibilities to witness a dreamlike and unforgettable experience on the back of one of our 13 horses.
Let your soul calm down, enjoy the views from the hills over the endless white beaches, ride on sandy paths along olive-plantations and seize the opportunity to go for a swim towards the sunset on horseback.
One needs not to be an already experiences rider to go on one of our well balanced greek ponies or small horses, but some basic knowledge would be very helpful for our bigger tours.
For beginners we offer the possibility to earn first expiriences on individual planned easy tours, feeling the charm of the islands impressions without being overstretched.
About:
At first we want to introduce ourselves: we are Nicole and Christoph along with our 4-leged family - beginning with Limes and our '3 pieces of gold':
Samour - Nicole's 'eyeball' - old purebread arabian stallion Kalif - Christoph's 'best piece' - our purebread arabian gelding Bobby - our dream pony - our perfectly trained german pony.
As well as our 10 greek ponys:
Jimmy, Simba, Pippi, Lena, Vamvaki, Virginia, Milena, Heidi, Marika und Leon, who have been waiting here for us. They will support us with qualities such as secure step, calm nature and their sociable attitude.
Our longstanding dream, living a life along with our animals, brought us to Naxos.
Our love towards horses and nearly 20 years of experience in company, care and the keeping of horses we have brought along with us.
By our way of keeping them and taking care of them we will do our best to give riders as well as the horses a good time enjoying the ride.
Ranch:
Our horse husbandry ( horse keeping )
Our horses are kept in groups in open stables. Paddocks and resting areas are cleaned several times every day.
The large and clean paddocks are protected by electric fences energized by solar power and equipped with sun blinds and shelters offering the animals sufficient shady areas. Water and roughage are provided during the whole day.
Twice a day the horses get concentrated feed ( mash, pellet, mixed provender ).
Medical attendance:
All the horses get periodic imunization according to the german vaccination record and are dewormed 4 times a year.
Hoof care and horseshoes:
Except for our stallion, all the other horses go barefoot ( no horseshoe ). Their hooves are looked after and corrected every 6 to 7 weeks.
Workload during the season:
There is no possibility to do a horseriding tour for too heavy or unsuitable guests.
Periodical rest periods and pauses even during main season means a daily maximum of 2 to 4 hours riding stress for the horses. Theres no horseriding during midday. Our horseriding-centre is open 12 months a year.
So also during winter we do tours, give riding lessons and work on the lunge.
All our horses are depending on their age, their toughness, in regard to their character and personality and especially according to their individual training state are continuously further educated according to Monty Roberts. |
